Sunday spirit of the age
The planned coffee date with a Greek Swedish couple Nik got to know through the bank vaporized--or the couple it self vaporized since they seem to have forgotten our little inter cultural get together plans. Sunday, anyhow, means coffee out, with our without the company of others. KUI is as always an obvious choice for me and Nik. Nice atmosphere, huge cups of Java prepared by the perfectionist Nikos and served by the social genius Nikos. Yes the bar is run by two Body builders both named Nikos and which it took me 2 years to tell the difference between.
So me and my Nik, sat in out usual couch, gazing out over Agios Sostis, Turtle Island and Laganas bay.Listening to 90´s hits(so persistently played by the two vintners) as we where flipping through an old edition of Cosmopolitan. Well i did anyway and Nik pretended to be interested..for some reason,,doesn't matter what we do, the conversation always turns into one wether that and that is politically correct. I´m telling you its difficult living with a commy when you´re biggest interest is clothes:) I am a self sufferer though and always was.
We sat until the place filled up and the cigarette smoke got thick enough for our breathing to malfunction. Neither of wanting to go home just yet, we met up with Sokrates and Christina and had another coffee with them at Movida
We decide about movie at their house as Christina had the latsest version of Zeitgeist. An illuminating documentary about the greatest lies told to the human race in ancient as well as modern times. Divided into three main messages the movie wanted to tell us...
1. The church is a political tool for social control and Jesus never existed/did what he did. Therefore spirituality itself is a big lie planted in order for humans to indulge in escapism, reducing our rights and abilities for resistance to fight for our human freedom.
2. War is brought upon us deliberately (duh)by powerful people wanting to control the world and..theres money to be made )
3. The very invention of MONEY and its value, is a big fraud. We are all slaves under the central banks and federal reserve...
Sure, the documentary was a bit American citizen angeled, and it kinda assumed that the people watching barley made it through high school. But anyhow, seeing beyond the obvious myths, it was very enlightening and really forces you into reality check of your own existence.
Since our hosts and ourselves where quite tired, we skipped the last 20 minutes at the end of it. Which is why i Googled it just now while eating breakfast, lets see how the story Zeitgeist, meaning "spirit of the age"..tidsanda..ended...
