Island Tour with Mr. G yesterday. A misty and boring day in the mountains. SO did the tourists think.
Met up with Emmie in the night, a dutch woman I got to know when I was working on the boat. We have been planning to go see Sharam, a guitar playing man with an indian background, in the Safari bar for a long time. His last gig for the season was last night so it was then or never.

I wasn't impressed by the repertoar but more by his guitar playing and harmonica skills. Great voice too. When he started playing own material instead of Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan, the show took a new turn. I had three drinks which was three too much. Not used to consuming alcohol during this period, which is why it went straight to my head and made mef forget a good friends birthday.. Was a fun night in good company however.

The Safari bar is owned by an English family. Chris, his wife Amy and Chris' father who looks like an unwrapped mummy with a mustche..dunno why that came to my mind...but he is a very mysterious man and a very slow bartender. The Safari bar used to be called ANgels bar about 5 years ago. ANd I used to waitress there until I got fed up with cleaning the floor at 4 in the morning every night, and not being able to spend any time with NIkos in the evenings. SO I stayed three weeks..
It was kitch then, and it's kitch now. Enlglish barowners, I'm sorry to say. But you lack taste. ANd you lack feeling for details. ANd you don't even have nuts in the bar! ANd you ask someone who orders a BAileys if they want the real BAileys or the cheaper version...I have learned to stick to bottled drinks like beer and breezers whenever I come to your bars..otherweise you never know what you get.

Today I cleaned a bit in our room (Rory is a dirtbag) and then I went to LIDL to shop for Shrimps. They are now defrosting in the kitchen. I will be brave and cook today again even though last Fridays beefmeal turned out terrible and unproperly cooked.

But I am a great cook, normally..just not last Friday, unfortunaley Nikos had invited his college Spiros from the bank to take part in the disaster meal...
When you live under the same roof as a middle aged Greek woman..beleive me, there's not much opportunity to keep your cooking skills up to date.
