grey day off
after a day off yesterday I was hoping for a bus tour today since the weather forecast didn't look too promising. Instead I got assigned to Keri / Caretta..this (in my unwillingness to go on a boat in the rain freezing my ass off) made me hope for a rainy day today.. I got what I asked for, Keri tour is cancelled..
Crawled out of bed at the same time as NIk however and went down for a morning beach race. .
Not much people on the beach except some turtle volunteers with their swinging dreadlocks and a foreign woman with her three dogs, who insisted on running around me and barking..Luckily I am not afraid of dogs but it pissed me off that the woman didn't control her dogs more carefully. The stray dogs down there would never attack you, however, these three bastards snapped at my legs several times. I told the woman off and she insisted they don't bite..I couldn't care less, I informed her politley. I don't like dogs hanging from my legs when the muslces are aching enough as it is.
She called them back and I speeded up.
Jo is missing. She had injured her leg and stayed in her box a few days. ABsorbing our love and some proper canned food. For Three days however, she is out of sight and I fear the worst. She's so vunerable. SO many male cats waiting to put their claws in her. I 'm just hoping she's not being held by some horny males..
Rory is growing into a Lion. Nikos has totally spoiled him to the point of no return. If he doesnt sleep with us, he cries. If he doesnt taste whatever is on our plate, he cries and if we don't pet him when he wants to, he cries. He's so adorable. But I can't wait for him to grown up so that we can start letting him outside on his own. He's gonna be a master hunter and clean this place up from rats and snakes for sure.
SInce I suddenly got three hours on my hands (on standby for the afternoon CAretta tour) I decided to familiarize myself some more with the economic crisis and the package so bravley proposed by the US President. Found a good page which quotes some European journalists and opinion-makers view upon the economic crisis and the US problems.
What is most interesting about the crisis is that great weaknesses in the liberal market theory are revealed which makes one more and more question the whole economic system...when the market fails, the state is there to bail it out..which wasn't exactly what Adam Smith and the boys had in mind when the free market theory was formed...
