Time of the gypsies
Perhan, the telekinesic gypsy boy, is poor, maybe because his heart is solid gold. And what good is gold in the heart when your uncle is a madman who detaches the roof of the house where Perhan lives with his Grandmother the healer and his crippled sister Danira. With the rain pourimg over the three unblessed, Ahmed turns up like a guardian angel. His son is dying and Grandmother is the only one who can help him. Grandmother saves the life of Ahmeds son and in return Ahmed promises to take her granddaughter to a hospital in Ljuljbana..to operate her crippeled leg. Young Perhan, will travel by his sister’s side, to ensure she will stay safe.

It’s the beginning of a journey with no certain end. It’s the journey of a young man whom for the first time sees the downsides of human ability..the cruelness and harshness in souls. Even a boy with a heart of gold cannot defeat evil by believing in his honest self. Not with a sick sister and a waiting grandmother..not with hopes ..
His dreams of a life with Azra the white gypsy girl, a healthy leg for his sister, aswell as a new roof over his grandmothers head, is what carries him along the hard path.. His dreams is what gives him ability to abandon his inner core..for money and gold.
Soon Perhan becomes the gypsy father Ahmed’s closest man and after a heart attack Ahmed looses his strengths to lead his crew of beggars and thiefs…and Perhan takes over as leader of the group...
Ahmed sends him away with a “shopping list” covering cripples, a pregnant woman and a new wife for Ahmed.. Perhan sees his chance to visit his village again and when he returns there, he finds things being not exactly as e left them...
“This has made me turn into wind, my dreams have evaporated like dust, I can’t dream anymore. A gypsy without dreams is like a church without a roof, like a textbook without words…”
