Julefrokost: Aprés
Tomorrow I am going to a real Danish "Julefrokost" with my job and the worst part is not having anything to wear ( I really do not have a single thing to wear) but how I will be coping with the "Danishspeakingandunderstanding" part. Yes people, I actually have a worry of the social kind. I mean, I can understand most of it if there is one person speaking at a time, I don´t have problems understanding conversations in a small group..but drunken Danish shouting over eachother heads around a "christmas table" I don´t know how I will handle that. My plan so far is
1. Laugh when everyone else is laughing
2. To say "ja"followed by a laughter, as an answer to most questions and comments
3. Use all six (!) of the beer tickets provided by the company I work for (Obviously the julefrokost involves a little bit more than only FOOD)
4. rely on the fact that alcohol actually does improve foresign language skills...(theres a reason there´s a facebookgroup with that name)
If I stick to my plan..I think there´s a chance I will have a great time..
